Day 23 - Bryce Canyon National Park

Bryce Canyon

At times I wondered if I was still on Planet Earth the sights were so amazing. First, we drove through the 18-mile park then stopped at points and overlooks on the way back as they were all on the left side of the road.

Yovimpa Point
Yovimpa Point

The first stop was Yovimpa Point, elevation 9,115' and I gotta tell you, I was a little light headed and weak knee-ed at this the highest elevation point of the park. After a sip or two of gatorade I felt better and this is what we saw - expansive views of southern Utah.

Black Birch Canyon

Black Birch Canyon

Next stop was Black Birch Canyon and, yes, that is snow- it snowed here only a week ago. The views are getting a little more exciting except no veggitation.

Ponderosa Canyon

Ponderosa Canyon

On to Ponderosa Canyon, elevation 8,766'. A little more snow then the canyon reveals its multi-colored hoodoo's.

Agua Canyon

Agua Canyon

A short distance away was Agua Canyon. The pic to the left is a large, lone standing hoodoo. The hoodoo to the right has trees growing on top.

Natural Bridge

The Natural Bridge is the next stop and was carved by rain and frost erosion. Another amazing sight. What more can I say.....

Farview Point

Next stop is Farview Point and Piracy Point, elevation 8,819'.  Farview Point offers views of plateaus and mountains.

Swamp Canyon

Swamp Canyon

Swamp Canyon, elevation 7,998' provided these views. This is the last stop before entering the most interesting part of the canyon.

The Grotto

Amphitheatre

And now to Bryce Point, elevation 8,296', and Bryce Amphitheatre, the largest natural amphitheatre. This area has the most amazing views in the entire park..the pictures do not do it justice.

Sunset Point

Sunset Point

Next to last stop is Sunset Point, elevation 8,000'. Sunset Point and Sunrise Point encircles the Bryce Amphitheatre.

Sunrise Point

Last stop, Sunrise Point, 8,017' elevation. One last look at this beautiful canyon.
