Day 14: New York here we come...

It's a beautiful Sunday morning with plenty of sunshine.  A lot of campers are out walking throughout the park.  We (finally) met the couple in the Phaeton next door to us...really nice couple with Brevard County license plates, however, they are full-timers and loving it.  They sold their house and volunteer at various campgrounds across the country in exchange for free campsites.  We just think that is the coolest!

Our Treats!
Michael and Karen stopped by to see the kittens this morning before we pulled out.  They have a 12-pound cat named Lulu and she is a big, fluffy, multi-colored beauty (forgot to get a picture of her...darn it).  Karen showered us with more gifts...a block of cheese, sausage, crackers and bread.  She is just tooo good to us!  We need to get outta town before they go broke!

OK...once on the road, we had a beautiful day to travel.  When we passed from VT into NY, we were maybe 40 miles from Montreal.  Still can't believe we left our passports at home.  We also passed through Potsdam, NY and drove right by the Clarkson University campus where Chase is attending as a freshman (Karen's youngest son).

Lake Ontario
We settled into a campground right on Lake Ontario in Oswego, NY.  When I say right on Lake Ontario, I mean right on Lake Ontario.  The lake is literally right across the street from us.

Bev's Dairy Treats
The local ice cream shop, Bev's Dairy Treatsalso across the street, is closing for the season at 8:00 tonight.  People were lined up from the time we got here until their 8:00 closing.  We didn't make it over there as we still have some Ben and Jerry's in the freezer.
